VIC 32 is
the last seagoing coal fired steam 'Clyde
Puffer'. She was built in 1943 and has
been well known for the last 30 years
on the West Coast of Scotland.
To keep the VIC 32 puffing gently through
the Crinan Canal and around the West Coast
we need your help.
The Trust is pleased to announce that
Jim Hay has been appointed a director
of the Puffer PreservationTrust. Jim
is 36 years old and has, for the last
ten years, worked for a small engineering
firm in Bath.
Although
schooled in retail management, his
engineering skills are self taught
while growing up with narrow gauge
railways. He has, with freinds, built
a one and a half mile long narrow
gauge railway around a quarry. He,
and his wife Becky, also have a narrow
boat on the Kennet and Avon canal.
His
interest in the VIC32 began after
spending a holiday on board in 1993.
His skills are much appreciated in
helping to kepp VIC32 an operational
vessel.
We
look forward to his continuing input
in this task.
